The sound of gambling

Over the weekend I went to Louisiana to gamble this past weekend with my boyfriend and his family. They were standing in line for something and I decided to take seat at a slot machine. As I sat there waiting I zoned out. All I could hear was the winning sounds of people playing slots. It sounded like a sweet song. Out of all the loud, crazy noises I was distracted by the sweet, soft melody of the music the slot machines were singing. I just thought how ironic it was that they would make the machines sing such an intriguing sound.

    I've never gambled before but I have been around slot machine when I went to Las Vegas when I was 16. However, I never really paid attention to the sound of the slot machines. I would have never thought something so simple could make a melody.

    I also love the sounds of a casino! There is something kind of cool about hearing all the machines going off in unison! Hope you won some money too!

The start to Halloween

I am a nanny to a 4 year old and 2 twin 15 month olds. Today we started hanging up Halloween decorations. Yes, I know it is a little early for that, but Clair (the 4 year old) loves Halloween and was begging me to start putting them up. This first thing I pulled out of the box was this Frankenstein doll. Clair went crazy with excitement, so I let her have it. While the twins and I were still going through the box of decorations out of nowhere I hear the Nay Nay song. The one that goes, "watch me whip, now watch me nay nay." It is the doll that I had just given to Clair. (Now I know why she was so excited for it!) Immediately one of the twins runs over to the Frankenstein doll and starts dancing with it. She was jumping up and down, shaking her butt, sticking her leg up in the air. Eventually we all joined in, but seeing her do dances I've never seen her do before was priceless.

Tough Times

Over the weekend my dog, Ruger got really sick. He is two years old. His whole life he has always been a little off. He sleeps all the time and never has energy like a puppy should. He always gets sick. As frequent as every other week. We keep him on a strict diet, but it hasn't seemed to help. Friday morning I took him back to the vet, which is a very familiar place for him. In the past the vet was never able to find anything wrong with him, but this time was different. We discovered he has kidney failure. The thing that sucks the most is that there is nothing you can do if a dog has kidney failure. He is just going to have to deal with it. It breaks my heart.
