Got Caught in a Pretty Stinky Situation

Saturday night started out as just a normal night, then instantly turned bad. My boyfriend and I took our dog out for our nightly walks. We go to an open field and let him off the leash to run around before we go back inside. Out of nowhere I saw something out of the corner of my eye. By the time I turned around to grab Ruger (my dog) he had already taken off running after it with my boyfriend shortly behind. IT WAS A SKUNK! He quickly sprayed Ruger in the face, and I instantly filled the air. We spent the rest of the night running around trying to find and make something to take the smell out of my dog. He had 3 baths that night and 2 more the next day. Needless to say 3 days later he still stinks and my apartment still smells like skunk.

A wondering mind at the worst times

It's funny how you can be thinking about one thing and moments later you have already changed your thoughts and ideas about 100 times. Now you are thinking about a completely different thing, and you don't even know how you got there. Yeah, that happens to me all the time. Especially as I am trying to go to sleep. Its like my mind thinks that bed time is the prime time to journey down this never ending tunnel of random thoughts. The other night I was thinking about Christmas presents. Why? I have no idea, but it gets better. I then started to think about how those Christmas presents would look amazing in my imaginary dream home that I won't be able to buy for at least another 5 years, if that. So tell me why the Christmas presents I hope to get this year are going to be placed in my dream home in 5 years. I've always wondered why do our brains do this? We think about the most random thing that will probably never happen and at that moment we see them as a reality causin

The start to Halloween

I am a nanny to a 4 year old and 2 twin 15 month olds. Today we started hanging up Halloween decorations. Yes, I know it is a little early for that, but Clair (the 4 year old) loves Halloween and was begging me to start putting them up. This first thing I pulled out of the box was this Frankenstein doll. Clair went crazy with excitement, so I let her have it. While the twins and I were still going through the box of decorations out of nowhere I hear the Nay Nay song. The one that goes, "watch me whip, now watch me nay nay." It is the doll that I had just given to Clair. (Now I know why she was so excited for it!) Immediately one of the twins runs over to the Frankenstein doll and starts dancing with it. She was jumping up and down, shaking her butt, sticking her leg up in the air. Eventually we all joined in, but seeing her do dances I've never seen her do before was priceless.
