Picture This

A young wild child sitting on the edge of forever
Feet dangling into the empty air
Squeezing tightly in discomfort to the two things she held dear to her adolescent heart
A squirming kitten trying to break free from the heavy warmth of her arms
And a bushy tailed stuffed rabbit that she would never let out of sight.

I have a brown and white two year old pit bull. He is the sweetest and cuddly dog ever, but he is afraid of everything. Last night our fire alarm went off in our apartment. Let me tell you, my "big, bad dog" hid like a little baby shivering under the covers on my bed. He got as close to me as he could without physically sitting on me. Although the fire alarm freaked me out, he made me laugh so hard. He is such a baby, but it was the cutest thing.

The start to Halloween

I am a nanny to a 4 year old and 2 twin 15 month olds. Today we started hanging up Halloween decorations. Yes, I know it is a little early for that, but Clair (the 4 year old) loves Halloween and was begging me to start putting them up. This first thing I pulled out of the box was this Frankenstein doll. Clair went crazy with excitement, so I let her have it. While the twins and I were still going through the box of decorations out of nowhere I hear the Nay Nay song. The one that goes, "watch me whip, now watch me nay nay." It is the doll that I had just given to Clair. (Now I know why she was so excited for it!) Immediately one of the twins runs over to the Frankenstein doll and starts dancing with it. She was jumping up and down, shaking her butt, sticking her leg up in the air. Eventually we all joined in, but seeing her do dances I've never seen her do before was priceless.

Taking the test to Determine my Future (ESL Certification Exam)

Saturday morning I got up bright and early to take my ESL certification exam. I had been so nervous for the past couple of weeks and majorly stressing myself out about it. The morning of though, I felt so calm. In my mind I either knew the material or I did not. There was no turning back at that point. Today I got an email saying that my scores were in. I was more nervous to open my scores then I was taking the test. All the late nights studying ended up worth it. I PASSED!!
